Summit Instruments currently offers three models of Inertial Measurement Systems.

Complete Solutions
Summit Instruments' Inertial Measurement Systems provide complete solutions for various aircraft tests such as Aircraft Stores Separation Test and Captive Carry Testing. All systems are completely self-contained and require no power from the aircraft undergoing testing. The systems are easy to use and can be installed and configured in less than 20 minutes. Systems can include wireless telemetry transmitters, which are IRIG-106 compliant. Our ICU (Instrument Configuration Utility) software is used to configure the instruments and will automatically generate TMATS files.

With configurable sensor parameters and telemetry settings, these flexible instruments allow quick and easy changes on the flight line. All systems include Li-Ion battery packs and optional frequency selectable telemetry transmitters. Our ICU software is used to configure all sensors and communications.

65210 Series Inertial Measurement Systems
The 65210 Series are self-contained Inertial Measurement Systems (IMS) designed primarily for Aircraft Stores Separation Test (Sep Test). These units are sometimes referred to as 6DoF (Six Degrees of Freedom) or TM (Telemetry) kits. The units are sealed and can be installed in less than 20 minutes. Internal inertial sensors can measure to ±100g accelerations and ±1200°/sec rotations. The systems include health-monitoring sensors.

Extended Inertial Measurement System
The 65210E is our Extended Inertial Measurement System. This model has the capability to perform data acquisition from external sensors, transducers, and signals. The 65210E is appropriate for captive carry aircraft flight dynamic testing such as loads and environmental testing. This instrumented telemetry package includes a provision for four Signal Conditioning Modules (SCM) to accommodate external inputs. A variety of SCMs are currently available and others can be developed upon request. The combination of internal inertial sensors and external inputs provide for additional testing flexibility.

Standard Inertial Measurement System
The 65210ES was designed to be a replacement for the predecessor 65210A (*Not recommended for new designs or applications). The 65210ES offers smaller size, additional measurement capabilities, and longer operating times than the 65210A. Full details can be seen on the 65210ES product data sheet.
