Summit Instruments, Inc. is a manufacturer of sensors and instrumentation products used in applications including aerospace, automotive, medical, military, oceanographic, robotic, and space. Our facilities are located just north of the Akron, Ohio region. Activities include sales, marketing, engineering, and production.

Current Opening: Full-Time Software Engineer

This mid-level position will provide time to learn and develop an understanding of Summit Instruments’ products, customers, and vendors. This position requires flexibility due to changing needs as a result of Summit Instruments’ growth. The primary role will consist of providing software support for manufacturing processes, test/calibration stands, and the many other software needs of Summit Instruments.

This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 9am to 5:30pm. Salary is $60 – $75k commensurate, based on experience. Benefits include medical insurance, retirement plan, and flex time.

The required knowledge and understanding of this position includes the following:

• Electronic instruments and devices including voltmeters, oscilloscopes, switching systems, counters, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and temperature chambers
• General physics
• Databases and SQL
• Basic I/O protocols, such as RS-232, GPIB and Ethernet network sockets
• SQC, quality improvement methods, and test analyses
• Signal analysis
• Fixed and floating point DSP hardware and algorithms

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
